Description
BM483: 483 Shori - Nakamura Design
Benchmade

The 483 Shori is the embodiment of a gentlemen's carry. No details were overlooked in the production of this elegant tool, including the Nak-Lok and beautifully contoured black micarta handle with aluminum bolster. The stainless steel backspacer utilizes cutting edge MIM technology to emulate custom hand file work and the S30V utility blade style offers a variety of uses.

Excellent size, weight and materials are the heart of the knife, but the ergonomics are it’s soul. For a small knife without any jimping, the knife locks into place very well with minimal fear about your fingers sliding forward onto the blade. The other aspect that sets the Nakamura series of knives apart is their use of the Nak-Lok, which acts like a cross between a lockback and frame lock but has a button you push to actuate. This design allows for ultimate strength in both the upward and downward direction of the blade and keeps your fingers clear from danger when closing the knife.

Cons: Ease of Opening, None
My first modern knife
I have been carrying a keychain knife for years and finally took the plunge on a "real" knife. What a difference! This Shoki is crazy sharp and well built. It fits comfortably in my pocket and is not shockingly large when I take it out in front of clients, etc. the only reason I'm not giving a five star review is that the thumb stud is a little tight to the handle. I'm getting used to it but I don't think I'll try flicking it open like the YouTube guys.

Everything I expected. Blade shape, fit and finish, the way it feels in your hand, all on the money. Great pocket knife!
