The Redencion 228 from Chaves American Made is based on Ramon's popular custom Redencion folder, but not at a custom price. The 228 is a slightly scaled down version of his custom that is definitely a much-more carriable piece than its predecessor. However it still maintains its overbuilt, beefy frame lock heritage and no-nonsense design. It's simple in appearance but once you feel the quality, smooth action and see Ramon's signature skull pocket clip in person, you will absolutely fall in love with this design.

The 228 is built along the lines of a Medford knife but it is much more similar to a DireWare folder than to anything else. It's not overbuilt just for the sake of being overbuilt. It's designed for the absolute toughest of tasks and has been engineered as such, with some seriously smooth action. The 3.3" hollow ground drop point blade is wicked awesome, made from CPM-S35VN stainless steel with a thick, reinforced tip. The blade rides on caged ball bearings for smooth deployment using the dual thumb studs and locks up rock solidly. The handle is made from two 0.190" thick slabs of 6Al-4V titanium with chamfered edges. It's definitely comfortable to use, even when gripping hard, and the finger groove prevents you from sliding forward onto that gorgeous blade. It is a flow-through design with a milled titanium classic Chavez skull pocket clip that adds the perfect amount of edginess to this fantastic knife.
