Good Solid Knife
This knife is my one of my favorites and though I own alot of knives this is the one i turn to when need to do some cutting, hacking and light prying (though that is not covered under warrenty). I have taken this out into the bush and have found it excelent at battoning, the coating on the blade prevents rust and with the aus-8 steel it is very rust resistant however the coating does come off with heavy especially in areas such the spine of the blade (due to battoning). As others have mentioned this is not a knife sharpened to a razor edge out of the box and it is relatively difficult to get it to this state however it does have a very high degree of sharpness and has very good edge retention considering the harsh usage. I recommended this to my cousin who went on deployment to afghanistan and he found it very effective. I have also heard the same from other people in the military involved in both logistical and combat enviroments. One thing that must be taken into account is that the sheath material does have good grip but it has a tendancy to degrade over time. My own knife which i have owned for a number of years this has not occured but have heard that some people have encountered this (whenever I use my knife i wear gloves so maybe it is the sweat?) Hands down the best knife cold steel has produced imo,
