Description
KS1860: Kershaw Piston Folding 3-1/2" Plain Blade, G-10 Handles
Kershaw

Unique cuts on the handle and blade give the Piston a great look. For easy opening, it features SpeedSafe® assisted opening and a convenient flipper. While the Piston is a larger knife, its G-10 handles make it light enough for everyday carry. An Inset Liner Lock secures the blade when open. The Piston offers our quad-carry options and even has a lanyard attachment. Don’t see a hole in the handle? Exactly. There’s a hidden lanyard loop in the interior of the handle so nothing interrupts the Piston’s cool good looks. Made in the USA.

About our Inset Liner Lock

To build an Inset Liner Lock, Kershaw insets a strip of steel inside a knife’s handle—most commonly when the handle is G-10. Insetting the lock in this way enables us to create a slimmer knife, while still providing the strength and security of a locking liner.

Cons: Blade Sharpness, None
Practical & light. Perfect for EDC
A big thanks to the KnifeCenter. Their knives always arrive in great shape, on time & their overseas shipping interface is flawless. I'm a collector, so its not going to get any 'Love'. The knife is like glue in your hands thanks to the handle material and design. It is slim and light. Although large (Not excessively), it feels small. The flipper is slow, but gives a solid reliable clunk, so you know its locked. It's not hair shaving sharp out of the box. That's something you'll have to address yourself. Other than that. Its a very good knife.

Outstanding value
This knife is the perfect size for large Every Day Carry and can be carried inside the waistband comfortably due to the thin handle thickness. It's a little stiff when it first arrives, but after using it for a few days it loosens up and you can open it easily. I don't have much experience with this particular steel but so far it's holding up well. I also like that it's made in the USA. Blade shape is perfect in my mind with a flat grind that goes high on the blade. Minor areas for improvement is that the thumb stud is a little sharp and needs to have the edges sanded down. It was an easy fix with some emery paper. I also would like some jimping on top of the blade to aid in holding onto the knife.

Another good product from Kershaw
Like the knife very much. The blade shape, weight, fit and fininsh and ergonomic design. The pocket clip is also much better than on other Kershaw models - lower riding and better looking. Very EDC friendly The reasons I gave it a 3 is that the spring assist is very wimpy, the flipper tab is painfully sharp and the studs are like rasps. Nothing few minutes with a sand paper wouldn't cure, though. Great value for the money.
