SP158TIP: C158TIP Techno
Spyderco

Polish knifemaker Marcin Slysz marks his Techno folder with a progressive European appearance.

The Techno falls into Spyderco's "Little Big Knives" category; meaning it has a smaller blade and handle, paired with a hard-duty locking mechanism, exotic blade steel and vault-like construction found primarily on hard-use, larger knives.

The Techno packs tremendous strength and utility into an incredibly compact package. Its drop-point blade is an impressive 4.5mm (0.177 inch) thick and features a full flat grind to provide an exceptional fusion of strength and edge geometry. It also has an oversized 13mm Trademark Round Hole for swift, ambidextrous opening and radiused jimping on the thumb ramp for comfortable yet positive control during use. The CTS-XHP blade offers an outstanding combination of strength, edge retention and corrosion resistance.

The handle is titanium with contrasting blue handle spacers leaving the handle open and exposing the inner workings for ease of cleaning. A Chris Reeve Integral Lock (R.I.L.) incorporates the handle's back scale as the lock. With the handle's back side doubling as both handle and lock, the need for internal liners is dispensed with, and the knife can be manufactured lighter and slimmer while retaining greater strength. A deep pocket wire clip can be positioned for left-hand or right- hand use with the blade tip positioned with the tip upward in the pocket.

The little big EDC knife
I really like this knife. Its very compact, yet solid. My only concern was the knife I received had a very late lock up. I'm not sure if that's normal with the technos.

The Ultimate Utility Knife
This beefy little thing here... I'm just in love with it. Taiwan Taichung construction is amazing. I use this knife as utility knife. Most common tasks include: - cardboard cutting, - gardening, - cutting an crafting plastic bikes parts when customizing. What makes this knife a must-have is that beefy blade with a very all-around usable shape. Construction and strength/weight ratio is also awesome. I would not recommend this knife to lefty people because of ergonomics reasons, but I do strongly recommend this knife to all the right-hand users. Please note that despite the overall handle feel is pretty comfy and effective for a pocket knife, thumb grip cuts on the top of the blade ain't really grippy at all. So I would just be safe and avoid power stubbing tasks for this little guy. Moreover I have to say: I contacted knifecenter customer service for some questions about the knife and I found great courtesy and willing to help. And they really shipped immediately after the order. Therefore I give 5 stars for both the great customer experience and the great knife I got.
