SP29GFP: C29GFP Cricket Black Nishijin
Spyderco
The Cricket is an excellent utility knife with a small re-curved hawkbill blade that absolutely tears through material with ease. The beautiful Nishijin Glass Fiber handles transforms this knife from a nice back-up EDC blade to a full on, sweet Gentlemen’s knife. The width of the handle design and a nice finger choil really give you a positive three finger grip for easy pull cuts. The thin framelock provides solid lock-up and keeps the profile slim in your pocket. The Cricket is fully adjustable with torx screws and for many doubles as a more funactional money clip due to the robust pocket clip it has set up for tip down carry. It’s an extremely functional little knife and for it’s size, is unmatched in cutting power.
Strands of glass and carbon are drawn into filament-like fibers and then woven into a swirled pattern called Nishijin. The name references a weaving pattern found in the production of Kimono cloth. A glass fiber scale makes up the front of the ergonomically rounded knife and the back stainless steel scale functions as an Chris Reeve Integral Lock (R.I.L.). The hollow-ground blade is a reverse “S” shape with a curved tip, highly functional for detailed cutting. Crickets are a favorite with both women and men and can be used as a money-clip.
