ZT0566: ZT0566 Hinderer & ZT Collaboration
Zero Tolerance Knives
A more compact version of the ZT0560.

Zero Tolerance Knives and Rick Hinderer team up again to create the new Zero Tolerance 0566. More compact than its larger brothers, the 0560 and 0561, the new 0566 is built for pure performance in an EDC-perfect size.

On the performance end, the blade is pure ELMAX powdered steel. With almost no impurities in the steel, the 0566’s blade can be sharpened to hair-popping levels—and also offers excellent
edge retention, strength, and toughness. For a secure grip, the front scale is textured G-10. The back is all stainless steel with a sturdy frame lock and lockbar stabilizer. The 0566 offers Zero Tolerance's quad-mounting system so users can choose tip-up/tip/down, left- or right-handed carry. And because it's a deep-carry clip, the knife will sit comfortably deep in the pocket.

For Rick Hinderer style in an easy-carry size, the new 0566 fits the bill.

Frame Lock
Frame Lock
Developed by Chris Reeve, it functions like a liner lock but the lock is comprised of one of the handle scales. It's an extremely strong and easy to manipulate lock.
Pocket Clip
Pocket Clip
Includes a pocket clip for easy accessibility and a more secure carry.
Extremely fine grained powered metal that strikes the balance between edge holding and corrosion resistance perfectly. Much more likely to get a rolled edge than have a chip develop.

Pros: Overall Quality, Lock Ease of Use, Blade Material, Blade Sharpness, Handle Feel, Pocket Clip, Lock Type
Cons: Ease of Opening, None
Great so far
Great knife. Yes, it's a little difficult to open and you have to use the flipper to do it, but I don't care about that. It will never open by accident, and I like that. My wife can't open it, so that's probably a nice safety feature as well, for me. If I wanted a knife to sit around and open repeatedly for fun -- and I've done that -- this would not be it. But I would also never expect a Spyderco or similar type to be as tough as this or other ZTs. Mine is probably the sharpest out-of-the-box knife I've bought, and I've bought quite a few. It flicks open quickly when I need it and the lock-up is excellent. Fits my hand great and the jimping on the back is perfect. No complaints. Have only used it a little, but am sure it will be a sturdy heavy-duty carry knife.

Love it!
Received as a gift from my kids. I'm a knife guy at heart and have two other ZT's in my collection (0801BLK, 0300ST).This 0566 Hinderer Design is my new favorite edc. Picked over my 0801BLK Rexford Design and my Spiderco CPM S30V. Superior materials used in design, fit and function. Sharp enough to shave the hair off a... well, another hair. lol j/k. But it is SHARP! Solid feel but not too heavy, tight lockup, flipper is lightning fast and easy to manipulate. Pocket clip allows deep carry. You can't go wrong with this one. 👍 4kingguy "There never was a good knife made of bad steel.” – Benjamin Franklin

ZT 0566 Hinderer
Purchased the knife yesterday, took it back today due to the AO. Just too difficult to open with a lot of force required to get the blade moving. I wanted to exchange the knife for another 0566, but found two other units required the same hard force to open, so kept what I had. This is only issue with the knife. Physically it is superbly put together, great glad design, and the blade centers perfectly. Lock is great, it's all great but the opening. My thumb and finger is still sore after several 100 times of trying to get it to open better. The shop I bought it from tried adding a drop of oil and doing an adjustment, to no avail. Too bad about the opening - for the money I thought it would be as good opening as my 350 ZT which is excellent in form, fit, materials and overall constructing. Wish the 566 could be the same.
