1095 Carbon Steel
1095 Carbon Steel
An excellent hard use steel, 1095 is a primary choice for camping and larger fixed blade knives for its extreme toughness and ability to hold an edge. Corrosion resistance is very limited with this steel, most blades come with a coating to prevent premature rusting.
Kydex Sheath

Waterproof, scratch resistant, and low friction. It will hold its shape and makes a great alternative to leather.

Pros: Blade Sharpness, Handle Material, Weight, Blade Material, None
Cons: Sheath/Scabbard, Finish
This is an extremely sharp knife. And the micarta handles are smooth but the handle design keeps it from moving around, and no hot spots. Only draw back is the sheath which scratches the he** out of the blade, but if your using this knife then that won't matter. Also there was an area where the powder coat wasn't grinded off, but was not a deal breaker. This is one gnarly knife, and I'm planning on buying a second one just for the collection. All in all, would i recommend this knife, he** yeah. Remember its one sharp as he** knife.

Pros: Blade Sharpness, Sheath/Scabbard, Handle Material, Blade Material, Materials, Weight, Overall Quality, Finish
Cons: None
Great Bushcraft and Defensive Blade
This is an awesome blade, I've taken this out for camping trips and use it as a carry knife in the military as well as training in knife defense classes. The micarta is grippy and the blade has great balance and with the bowie style can deliver heavy chops even though its a fairly lightweight blade. As for bushcraft and camp knife the choil works great for being able to do very controlled slices and featherstick making even for this larger knife. The 8.5 inch blade can span alot of wood for batoning and felling small trees and other chopping tasks. The edge is hair shaving sharp out of the box and even with the moderate use in the woods still has its great factory edge. The kydex sheath is also fairly nice, though a little large, it is much better than 98% of other knife sheaths and do not feel the need for making/buying a nice leather or kydex sheath.
