A Classic Remade
Recently, I was looking at picking up a Buck 110, but instead decided to buy this as basically a Buck 110 with better materials. The first thing that surprised me when I got it was the weight. The Buck 110 is a very heavy knife, as most lock back blades of this size are.Yet this knife was almost as light as my SOG Flash 2! I don't have a scale so I cant give the exact weight, but if weight is a deterrent for you then look here. The knife does however have enough weight to inspire confidence in its ability to hold fast under bad conditions. The lock is great, a time-proven lock with no side side or up down play to it. a great advantage it has over the 110 is its screw construction, so you can adjust the pivot or take it apart if need be. The D2 blade came extremely sharp, and from what Ive read benchmade treats their D2 in such a way so that it greatly reduces its tendency to rust. This my explain the exceptionally smooth surface of the blade. The micarta handles are great and Ive heard good things about their traction in adverse conditions. The blade has good belly making it a good slicer, and had a good sharp tip to it as well. To me it is like an upgraded 110. Something that will last a lifetime

Long wait is over.
At the moment the only use I have made of it is to look at it and if you could wear it out by visual inspection, it would be showing significant signs of wear. It is probably a little big for an EDC, which was my original intention, but it is very light and barely noticed in my pocket. The finish is perfect. The stability of the blade and action of the lock is perfect. My first D2 blade, but well reputed so I can't imagine a problem. It came sharp, out of the box, and with the lightest stroke, shaves clean. In general it may be the best value for money knife I have ever bought. I waited months for them to come into stock, and now received, well worth the wait. I will next buy one in Cocobolo for the joy of it. You can never have too many knives.
