Pros: Overall Quality, Blade Sharpness, Handle Feel, Weight, Ease of Opening, None
Cons: Pocket Clip
Solid knife, great size, not assisted
I upgraded to this Benchmade from an SOG Flash II. I lost the SOG in Vermont somewhere, a nice knife in its own right, but not nearly as good as this Mini-Presidio.I didn't pay enough attention before I bought this knife as I assumed it was an assisted opener. I saw youtube videos of people opening the knife and it appeared that it was assisted. It is not. But, with a little practice, you can open this knife as easily any assisted opener. This is a testament to the build quality of Benchmade. I love the Axis lock up. The clip, not so much. I took off one star because the knife is not perfect. The blade is sharp as a razor, the entire knife feels solid and has no rattling or wiggling. Now that I know the difference between an Axis and Assisted Axis (duh!) I MIGHT get the assisted someday, but this knife operates so well, I may not want to spend the extra $$ for the assist. If you're looking for a EDC knife, light, not too big, not too small... this Mini-Presidio Ultra is a GREAT choice.
