great knife for price
For the price this knife is hard to beat when it comes all around versatility. I bought the knife as I was looking for an affordable yet quality folder that was american made, for 2 years I beat the hell out of it using it for any task I could come up with, from cutting up carpet to cutting drywall and making firewood. The tanto blade makes sharpening a little more difficult if you are used to clip point blades and the like but the blade style also aids in puncturing and slashing. The entire frame/handle is made of a strong Glock like polymer, there is no steel or metal reinforcement, however this is not a bad thing. The knife is very lightweight and is plenty strong as far as lock up and overall sturdiness goes. I like the blade steel it held an edge well and was easy to get it back to ideal sharpness. I only gave the knife 4 stars because recently I was forcefully throwing the knife point first into a block of pine, the knife penetrated so deeply that when upon trying to get it out, I mistakenly gave it some side to side wiggle and the blade tip snapped off. This was my fault and not a weak point of the knife, just know that the steel the blade is made out of is high in stiffness like a carbon steel blade, so it is possible to snap it you aren't moderately care full. Overall I would recommend this knife to anybody looking for a quality worker knife that can with stand to most abuse. My very favorite feature of the knife is the hole in the blade for opening it. I found that with very little practice one can deploy this bad boy as fast or faster than an automatic knife.

Good value
I bought this knife as i needed a good (American Made) usable folding. i was set on benchmade and kershaw and this benchmade HK was the one. The packaging is large and handsome, knife comes contained inside bubble-wrap inside the paperboard box. when you remove the bubble-wrap you will find a nice sleek microfiber or silk black HK carrying bag. the knife is extremely lightweight but the "Grivory" feels ok good and durable quality. i think the hole opening system on the blade is the very best blade deployment system there is. you can knock this badboy out of the handle faster than most switchblades and there is a silent but confirming click. no blade movement, the lock is sturdy but i dont know if it could last Against serious hard use like chopping treebranches. the blade steel is Austrian AUS8 which is a premium stainless. it sharpens easy and lasts pretty long. good serrations, this knife is totally worth 48 bucks. my only complaint is that the handle/grip is made entirely of plastic, no metal frame or anything. IM guessing HK decided to do this to save weight and since the button-lock doesnt require a frame to hold onto. I do recommend this knife as a EDC, camping, hunting, just everyday-small use knife. mine cuts plastic, leather, and rope like butter.

pretty decent
I switch it on and off as a edc, it came sharp out of the box and is extremely light, its a little thick though and I feel your money would be better spent on a equally priced kershaw of spyderco
