BO01BO295: Boker Plus Kwaiken Flipper Folder
Boker Plus
Slim and sharp, smooth and beautiful - an accurate description of the folding Kwaiken knife from Boker Plus. After a long time in development, this folder is a design of young knifemaker Lucas Burnley from New Mexico and a re-engineered piece of his popular fixed blade model. Burnley wanted to translate the Kwaiken's typically slim concept into a folding knife without drastically changing the proportions.

The result is a design which has fascinated us at first glance. The clear lines and the slender knife which nevertheless houses the entire blade in the closed position are absolutely unique. Whoever is expecting to find compromises in the area of ergonomics because of the slim handle should take the knife in his hands and see for themselves. The slim blade is made of AUS-8 stainless steel and deploys extremely smoothly due to the IKBS bearings. This knife is very reminiscent of the Heiho from CRKT and will definitely not disappoint.

Boker Plus Kwaiken Flipper Folder

After the success of the original Kwaiken Folder, Lucas Burnley went back to the drawing board and designed a flipper version. The enhanced feature makes the Kwaiken Flipper a must have.

Pros: Blade Sharpness, Lock Type, Handle Material, Overall Quality, Pocket Clip, Ease of Opening, Handle Feel, Weight, Lock Ease of Use, Blade Material
Cons: None
Great knife
For those reading about the tip protruding from handle when knife is closed, that is most likely due to pocket lint packed into the track on the blade that the "hidden stop pin" rides in to anchor the blade and keep it from opening or closing too far. That issue can be fixed simply by cleaning out the pivot area of the knife. The bearing and hidden pin operate super smooth and any lubricant will only accumulate lint and dirt so leave em dry or use a dry lubricant. I own both models and both blade steel types. Both take and hold an excellent edge, feels great in the hand, and carries virtually un-noticeably. Worth your money.

Really solid Knife
Not my most expensive knife but it is my most expensive now user. I ordered the AUS8 version by mistake and was going to send it back for the VG10 but I think I will keep the one I have as the lock up is excellent, blade is centered, and it flips great. This is one of the most impressive knives I have ever held (based on value) and my first Boker folder but it certainly wont be my last. Instantly fell in love with this bad boy and will probably order a VG10 version soon. Only con would be the weight I would prefer it be a tad lighter but I do enjoy hefty solid chunks of metal...this one just so happens to be quite a looker!

Tastefull and usefull
The knife is a tool on my many walks and bicycle rides in nature. It's appearance is sturdy and in fact quite tastefull. It looks in fact more like a surgical instrument than like a pocket knife. Although a bit on the heavy side it has a good grip and the sharp blade works well weather you would like to peel an apple or would need to cut some branches. Although the blade looks like it means business, it is not so big that it sends off people screaming from fright as soon as you open it, which can be usefull when using it during your lunch on the job.
