The Boker Damascus Cuisine kitchen knife series combines the craftsmanship of two world famous blade towns - Seki, Japan and Solingen, Germany. The blades of the Boker Damascus Cuisine kitchen knives are from Seki, the famous homeland of Japanese blades. The perfect finish of the knives and the complete handle mounting is done in the Boker Knife Manufactory in Solingen.
The legendary Japanese art of forging swords in Seki has been passed on from generation to generation over the centuries. Based on this ancient know-how, improved methods of blade making have been discovered, so that the Boker Damascus Cuisine knives are not only highly corrosion resistant, but also show a great edge hardness of 61° HRC and are extremely sharp, with outstanding edge retention. The stability of the stainless blades is provided by 37 layers of Damascus steel, which cover the blade core and create the distinct individual character that only Damascus can give.
Boker‘s experience of 140 years of knifemaking in Solingen brings the process of completing the knife with handle and finish to perfection. For the handfitted scales, we use hand picked Makassar wood, an intensely colored non-sensitive ebony wood, which is often used for artistic carving, musical instruments, precious furnishings, and for the interior of European luxury sports cars. The beautiful grain of each individual handle gives the Boker Damascus Cuisine the appearance of a true collector‘s knife. The newly developed metal handguard guarantees a perfect balance and allows for extended work in the kitchen.
