Leather Sheath
Leather Sheath
Leather is known for its durability and traditional appeal. When compared to Kydex it is preferred for its silence when bumped against other objects, as well as blade retention.
Wood Handles

Provides a traditional, natural look and feel to a modern tool. Wood absorbs shock well and is popular in axe handles.

Pros: Blade Sharpness, Sheath/Scabbard, Handle Material, Blade Material, Materials, Weight, Overall Quality, Finish
Cons: None
gooooood knife
Not agree with precedent review: in my opinion the grind was made for a " do it all" knife and in fact in my last camping have done almost all the work. It cut some meat, wood, some ropes, tuna and bean cans and all with ease. a very good camping/survival knife. sheath is made in very good leather and I say that because many brands say their sheath is in leather but is of poor quality.

A great idea but flawed edge geometry
I like so much about this knife from the handle (how it feels) to the steel (quality stuff) and the sheath. It however falls flat on it's face due to the incredibly shallow and axe like cutting edge. I own MANY Leuku style blades from cheap to very expensive custom blades. This is by far the WORST cutter of them all. The grind of the cutting edge is tiny, steep and not very defined. I am not sure what they were thinking with this geometry. I guess if the idea was to use it as a light axe it almost makes sense with the way the grind was made, but the edge doesn't work for that purpose either!! In essence it is useless, and I cannot recommend it for anything but looking at. It can't cut/whittle and it can't chop. The edge NEEDS a complete regrind for it to be useful.
