Outdoor Life - Essential Tools For Your Outdoor Life

Our roots are in the outdoors and this is where they remain. A few years ago we returned to our roots when we moved our headquarters to Post Falls, Idaho – right in the heart of some of the finest outdoor activities in the country – hunting, fishing, camping and hiking. These products were inspired by the outdoor life that we all love and enjoy.

Hunting - The First Buck

Improving hunting performance. Hunting is where it all started over a hundred years ago and this is still the main focus for Buck. We are constantly making refinements that improve the performance of our knives and crafting new designs that allow hunters to improve performance of field dressing and skinning.

Larger sized, comfortable and durable. This hunting knife was designed with full tang construction and Alcryn® MPR rubber handles for superior performance in demanding end-use environments. The additional large integrated finger grooves and grip areas provide safety of use. The larger Bucklite MAX™ is available with both a standard drop point blade and a guthook version.

MY BUCKLITE 679 THAT WAS A REPLACEMANT for my diamonback gut hook
I USE THIS KNIFE TO SQUIRRL HUNT AND DEER HUNT THE BUCK MAXLITE 679 WITH GUTHOOK IT WAS A REPLACEMANT FOR MY BUCK DIAMONDBACK GUT HOOK THAT THE STEEL WENT BAD IN AND WOULD NOT SHARPEN ANY LONGER. . I HAVE USED THIS ALREADY ON SEVERAL SQUIRRL'S AND I HOPE TO GET TO USE IT ON A DEER THIS YEAR DURING BOW AND GUN SEASON. I LIKE THE FACT THAT THIS KNIFE HAS A LITTLE BIGGER BLADE THAN MY PREVIOUS KNIFE DID. THE DIAMONDBACK SERIES WAS ONLY PRODUCED BY BUCK KNIVES FROM 2006 TILL 2008 IT WAS MADE FROM J2 STEEL WITCH IS A VERY CHEAPER STEEL. NOW THE NEW SERIES THE MAXLITE IS MADE FROM 420 HC STEEL AND MADE IN POST FALLS IDAHO. MY BUCK 679 MAXLITE IS A 2012 MODEL. THE BUCK BRAND IS THE ONLY BRAND I HUNT WITH AND CARRY IN THE WOODS AND AS A EVERY DAY CARRY KNIFE I USE A BUCK 110 PLUS USE IT HUNTING AS WELL.

Handle Feels Great.
Got this knife for my brother. He says that one of the best features he says about it is how great the handle feels and the material it is made out of. That the hook is of really good quality and design and that everything is fantastic. The only negative is the sheath which is were it is made. For some reason the knifes are made in the U.S. but, sheaths made in china. No problem other than that though.

buck maxlite guthook
this knife took the place of the buck diamondback the diamondback was only made from 2006 till 2008 but was made from 420 J2 stainless steel which did not sharpen out very well and the diamondback was made in china. So it was discontinued and they brought out the buck maxlite which is made at the post falls Idaho factory and is very much a better quality knife than the diamondback. I use this knife to squirrel and deer hunt and sometimes rabbit hunt or just carry it while walking in the woods as well. The Buck maxlite is made from the 420 HC steel that will get like a razor blade I don't have to sharpen mine much during squirrel season mabe six or eight time during squirrel season which starts in sept and ends in jan.
