BU731BK: X-Tract LED - Black
Buck Knives

The X-Tract has just the tools you need, including an LED light! This built-in light is great for dim conditions, as it lets you see what you are working on or where you are going. In contrast to typical multi-tools, the X-Tract has a serious full-size blade, one-hand access to all implements, and a rubberized handle for better grip and leverage. The knife blade and all the tools are one-hand open and lock open for safety and convenience. The 731 was designed in collaboration with Peter Whittaker, world renowned mountaineer.

Carry it every day
I use it for a handy knife at work. The blade is really pretty good. Better size and shape than a leatherman or the SOG (which I have and love for the tough geared plier). The blade is actually a blade, not just a sharp pencil thick cutter, and locks well. The worst item is the plier, which is a light alloy or cast. It's thin and won't really take any torque or torsion, but at the overall weight and size I would recommend it. The 731 is true one handed operation for all the tools and the torch / flashlight is good, even if the battery is expensive. The sheath can mount vertically and horizontally which is great.

Pros: Sheath/Scabbard, Handle Material, Blade Material, Finish, Locking, Overall Quality, Included Tools
Cons: Included Tools, None
I bought this for my son who hasn't had a chance to use it much. This review is based solely on initial handling and use of the knife. I have no idea how it holds up after long term use and wear. The knife is very stuudy and solidly built. All of the promised features are present and work as advertised. The pliers don't extend and open very much making them of somewhat limited use. All of the other functions seem to be just fine. The case is pretty sturdy and made of heavy duty nylon and plastic. As long as Bucj guarantees this item it should be a fine utility tool.

China made Buck
I bought a buck because I try to buy American, due to the poor quality of a lot of the imported things. The knife is ok but it's nothing like the buck knives I've owned in the past.
