Pros: Blade Material, Overall Quality, Handle Feel, Weight, Handle Material, Blade Sharpness
Great knife, fast shipping
I have looked at the Trapper and Mini Trapper from Case on a number of occasions, but it simply wasn't my kind of knife for an EDC. Then I saw the Mini Trapper with the beautiful antique bone handles and the replacement of the prosaic Spey blade with a Wharncliffe blade. There isn't much you can do in modern life with a spey blade. But a Wharncliffe is one of the most useful blade configurations. And, of course, the knife also has the traditional clip blade. Since each blade is on a separate back spring, the knife is somewhat thick in cross-section, making for a nice heft and hand feel. I loved it instantly, and it has more than exceeded my expectations. The only disappointment was that the "saw cut" handles are barely saw cut at all, because the final finishing of the knife buffed them all away. They are only faintly visible on one side of the knife, and not visible at all on the other. But that is a minor quibble. The antique bone is gorgeous, however with or without saw cut marks. A winner!
