Pros: None
Cons: Blade Material, Blade Sharpness, Overall Quality, Materials
Don't buy this piece of junk
I can't even say that I did a proper field test on this knife - because the first time I took it in the woods with me the blade shattered!!! Honestly, I went into the woods behind my house and started to use it to knock a few branches off of a log. After a couple of strikes, the blade broke about 2 inches up from the handle and the top portion flew a good 3 feet. On top of that, the price is ridiculus The only thing I liked about this knife was the placement of that notch in the back for the flint. That thing does work quite well - 'course a disposable lighter costs $1, and is much more reliable.

Broke first time using it
I used this machete once on a downed log, I hit it a few times and the handle cracked. The blade is still perfect, not even a paint chip yet. The camillus lifetime warranty says you need original packaging to return it in, still trying to see if they will replace it without it; if they don't I plan to make a handle worthy of the awesome blade this came with. The sheath seems to be backwards to me, if i pull out the machete the way I think it goes in the sheath it runs the blade across the snap closures' straps. If I have it the other way, I have to flip it around in my hand after I unsheathe it. I know you are supposed to unbutton the snaps to take it out of the sheath, I get that, but it fits so loose in their you don't really need to, and it is especially hard to unsnap when it is on your belt or in a bag. I stuck some cut resistant tape around where the blade touches the straps and I think that would of solved my only issue I was having with this machete, but then the handle broke so now I have that problem...

Pros: Blade Material, Weight, Blade Sharpness
Cons: Handle Material, Sheath/Scabbard, None
as per other reviews
i will still give it 2 stars due to the robust blade design and i like les stroud. the handle is completly flawed. the tang should have been a full tang and the pommel was a nice idea but completely flawed in design. I am currently working on redoing the handle because i refuse to give up on this blade. another thought is the blade edge seems a little too wide. i would consider slimer angle and longer. thou the edge is extreamly sharp and i found that out while i was fighting to get the ferrous rod out. you have to get a firm grip and yake with all your might. that wasn't thought out very well.
