Leather Sheath
Leather Sheath
Leather is known for its durability and traditional appeal. When compared to kydex it is preferred for its silence when bumped against other objects, as well as blade retention.
1095 Carbon Steel
1095 Carbon Steel
An excellent hard use steel, 1095 is a primary choice for camping and larger fixed blade knives for it's extreme toughness and ability to hold an edge. Corrosion resistance is very limited with this steel, most blades come with a coating to prevent premature rusting.

Perfect Piece Of Steel!
This is a kind of knife for EVERYTHING, I think. Of course - it's rather unsuitable for fine cutting of onion, but skinning is good, carving the meat very good, preparing splinters for any kind of fire is excellent....The right knife for the right survivors! 1095 steel is very good - durable sharpness, but also easy to maintenace. 2 - 3 moves on sharpening steel... and the edge is like a razor again. The leather sheath is perfect, no reservation about it. Buy this piece - you'll be satisfied!

Solid Buschcraft knife.USA MADE...
One of the Best buschcraft knives out there.Good steel.Good Balance.Micarta scales.Good quality leather sheath.I prefer Scandinavian style knives overall, due to their practical usages.I like the fact that there are no gimmicky add on's,or something that just doesnt work.I guess i like the simplicity of scandi knives. And as far as production knives go,this Camillus rivals ANY Scandi made production knife there is.I personally like it the most, due to the thickness, and the full tang, and upswept blade design. And of course US Made.Get one.You will like it.

I'm Mostly Pleased
I just got to try out my Bushcrafter last weekend. It was nice to carry on belt, even when sitting in my truck. Wonderful sheath - functionally and aesthetically. It's a nice thing to not have to mess with retainer straps. Handle was very comfortable. BUT why not go ahead and put a nice edge on it at the factory? It is harder to sharpen than any 1095 blade that I have seen, probably due partly to its curviness. I have acquired several Scandinavian knifes lately , and those folks know how to send knives out SHARP. I will keep at it, but shouldn't have to for $120.
