Description
CRD2730: D2730 RMJ Woods Chogan T-Hawk Leather Sheath Only
CRKT

Need a beautiful hand crafted leather sheath for your CRKT Woods Chogan T-Hawk? Well now we've got you covered. The leather on this sheath is 6/7 oz. full-grained leather that is heavy duty and hand crafted in Oregon, USA. The leather is vegetable tanned and will not corrode metal. It has a hand oiled finish for durability and the seams are locked stitched with heavy weight nylon thread. The sheath protects the axe head and fits snugly and securely with three snaps. The belt loop fits belts with widths up to 1-3/4" thick. This sheath will not fit the CRKT Woods Kangee T-hawk, but you can find one that will here.

Leather is known for its durability and traditional appeal. When compared to kydex it is preferred for its silence when bumped against other objects, as well as blade retention.

Pros: Overall Quality, Carry Position, None
Cons: Durability
Great design, leather is great, plastic snaps are junk!
First of all, I would rate this as excellent, if CRKT actually used metal snaps on this, and I would be happy to pay a few dollars more for them. The leather work is very good for a product like this under $25. I will at some point visit a leather shop, and have metal snaps put on this. As it is, I don't trust the plastic snaps not to fail or wear out prematurely, and cannot recommend safe use of this product until that is resolved. On mine it's the handle snap that doesn't even close, and the other snaps open with the slightest brush of my thumb over them, so if you were carrying your hawk in the bush with this, you could lose it completely, or worse yet fall, and have that blade cut you because those plastic snaps are not secure enough to withstand even light impact. For a USA made product, you sure could have done better CRKT. Shame on you!

Fits Well
The sheath fits well on the tomahawk but the first time putting on it was hard to close the snaps. Must say I was surprised that the snaps are plastic so we will see how well they hold up. Bottom line is that you need a sheath to carry your tomahawk and at around $20 its hard to beat.
