Description
CS29TXTH: Voyager X Lg. Tanto Point 50/50 Edge
Cold Steel

Our Voyagers® are, ounce for ounce, far stronger than 99.9% of our competitor's folders. And this is a fact, not an idle boast. Each knife features precision made parts with a stiff spring and our incomparable Tri-Ad® lock mechanism which is arguably the strongest, most reliable, low maintenance lock in the world!

The thick, extra wide blades are made from Japanese AUS 8A steel and meticulously ground to a thin edge for maximum shearing potential. This thin edge also allows us to hone each blade to astounding sharpness. And, because of the high carbon content of the steel, and their near perfect heat treatment, you'll find this sharpness last a surprisingly long time.

If you like serrations, you'll really appreciate our exclusive pattern. It features groups of very small, sharply pointed teeth separated by wide, shallow arcs so it will rip smoothly yet very aggressively through a wide variety of tough fibrous materials without snagging or hanging up.

The Voyager® Series also offers all the other latest refinements in lock-back construction including lightning quick, one-handed opening, state of the art mechanical fasteners, massively oversized pivot pins that are fully adjustable and properly hardened, and dual stainless steel pocket clips for ambidextrous carry and deployment.

The Grivory handles feature 6061 heat treated aluminum liners for the utmost in strength and stiffness and are ergonomically designed to afford a wide array of grip options including the palm reinforced forward grip for which they are particularly well suited.

Grivory is unparalleled as a handle material as it is considerably stronger than Zytel® and, when deeply textured, offers a terrific non-slip grip. As an added bonus, it's impervious to moisture and won't crack, warp or shrink and remains remarkably resistant to abrasion or discoloration.

As tools these lightweight, super sharp knives are appropriate in almost any environment from hunting and camping to hiking and general utility chores. They can also readily fill specialty functions such as a boat or river knife, chute knife or police/military and survival/rescue applications.

Cons: None
wow
This is one serious blade. I learned how sharp it was when its assisted closing option aided the blade strait to the bone on my finger with ease. Didn't even feel it cut. Huge knife. I use this knife as a self defence tool and I know I'd have no problem defending myself with it. Solid blade. Built well. Love the tanto style. Opens and closes well. I don't think you can lose with this blade especially for the price.

A "Serious" folder, not for kids...
Up to big tasks. The locking mechanism gives it the "feel" of a fixed blade. Light but very strong.

Scary sharp!
I carry this knife for mainly for emergency. It can handle mundane everyday things like cutting zip ties and cardboard easily, but I dont think it is best suited for that. The blade on this knife is very big. The biggest I have ever seen on a tactical folder. This makes it a bit awkward for small tasks. The AUS 8 steel is very good on this knife. It has a darkish color to it simmilar to a high carbon steel. However, this blade metal is better at resisting rust. The blade is flawless and beautiful. The tanto blade looks and performs like a high end Samurai sword. That is how sharp it is out of the box. The sturdy Grivory handle is of a unique shape. It allows you to hold it close to the blade for a more controlled grip. It also has finger grooves at the curved end of the handle to utilise the full length of the knife. Holding it this way makes the knife perform powerful slashes and chops with a ballance in your hand simillar to a Kukri or Bolo Barong. I have tried many various ways of gripping the handle including reverse/hammer grip, and it feels very comfortable. In a self defense situation against another knife, its blade length, sharpness, heft ,and reach combined with the ergonomic handle are a big advantage. Its true potential is its use as a fighting knife. In the right hands, it a great force multiplier. I advise you to be carefull though, I am used to liner lock knives and opening and closing knives one handed. Its a muscle memory for me. This knife has a locking mechanism simillar to a Buck knife. You have to press a spring on the spine of the handle. This is best done carefully with two hands. I cut myself real bad as I accidentally closed it on my right index finger. It is wicked sharp and it didnt take much to give me a nasty cut. Still, It is a very durable locking mechanism. I highly recommend it !
