Description
CS39LSSC: OSS
Cold Steel

The OSS® sub-hilt fighter offers all the advantages and performance of a custom knife at a fraction of the price. For the ultimate grip, the handle guard, and sub-hilt are injection molded in one in one integral piece of Kraton®. This manufacturing method makes the OSS® more affordable while delivering the durability, security, and control in the hand that the sub-hilt fighter is famous for.

The OSI is the single edged version of our OSS. Hollow ground to a thin, ultra keen edge it's an awesome "sticker" and will cut and slash with the best of them. Extensively field tested by Cold Steel President, Lynn C. Thompson, in Australia in 2007-08, it has field dressed, skinned, and "broken up" dozens and dozens of animals from wild boar to buffalo and proved to be outstandingly efficient field knife. It's also ideal for use in countries or localities that prohibit or restrict double edged knives.

Good Knife
This knife is good for one thing above all others. It's a self defense knife. Too light for heavy chopping. A little too long for legal street carry. Taiwan is stamped on the blade so I assume it was made there. That's not so bad in this day and age. AUS8A is the steel used. A good combination of strength, rust resistance and sharpening ease. The sheath is a little cheap but does the job. Hard to draw the knife. must hold the sheath tightly to withdraw the knife. The hilt and finger extension are all molded together of one materal. Not sure if the hilt would hold up to a sharp blade attack. It is good for protecting your hand from slipping onto the blade. Overall a good bladed for the money, which you could depend on for self defense.
