CS59KCZ Chef's Knife
Cold Steel's new series of kitchen knives, the Kitchen Classics, will race through just about any task you can imagine. Theses blades are ice tempered and then precision flat ground for maximum cutting power. All models in the series come with a razor sharp edge that lasts and lasts, and some have serrated edges uniquely appropriate to the tasks they were designed to do. The handles are, in a word, terrific! Carefully designed to ensure a strong, secure, yet comfortable grip, they feature a stiff Zytel® core on the inside, with a softer, deeply checkered rubbery exterior for a the kind of non-slip grip that must be felt to be appreciated!

also unimpressed
this thing was sharp out of the box! sadly the edge didn't last long. not even sure it lasted 24 hours. the spine of the knife feels too thick. it doesn't feel great in the hand. not a knife i would recommend or buy again. hopefully a regrind will give me better retention, otherwise this knife will not see much action.

Fantastic Knife!
I use this for home cooking and couldn't be happier with it. I've owned it for a little over a year. It's very sharp and keeps its edge. I don't have a huge collection of different knives but I do love to cook, and I wanted something that's good all-around. This knife fits the bill. I recently bought one for a friend for Christmas, too, because I'm so happy with it and I know he is, too. The grip is also really good, albeit different. It's got these little rubber bumps that surprised me at first, but I like it so much better than other knives with hard metal or plastic grips. It is softer and feels very sturdy, and gives me a good grip. I feel that this material is very appropriate for a knife because everyone's hands are different, so it seems unrealistic to expect everyone's hands to fit a hard handle, and the slightly softer material means it molds to my grip. Lastly, the price is right! I'm very happy for this and definitely couldn't imagine finding a better knife for the same price.
