Cold Steel describes this item as follows:

If you were suddenly castaway on a desert island or stranded in the wilderness or a jungle, what's the one tool you would want at your side? The answer is a good machete. You see the machete, over the last three centuries, has proven to be the ultimate outdoor and survival tool. It will cut, chop, slash, hack, split, scrape, scoop, hammer, dig, crush, carve, whittle, crack or smash just about anything you can put in front of it. The machete also makes a deadly improvised weapon. It can be used to kill both fish and game and will gut, scale, filet, skin, quarter, and butcher them for the table as well. And when you look at its meager cost, it's got to be one of the best bargains for hard earned cash in the world. In fact it's so cheap and useful that even the poorest peasant in South America or tribesman in Africa invariably owns one and counts on it as one of his most precious possessions.

These blades are made out of 1055 Carbon Steel with a tough spring temper and are surfaced with a black, baked-on anti-rust finish. Each Cold Steel® machete comes with a good utility edge which, with just a little work, can be made hair shaving sharp. The tough, Polypropylene handles of our machetes are designed to provide a comfortable secure grip, and they are rugged enough to resist chipping, cracking or breaking, so they last practically forever.

Known throughout Asia and Pacific Rim, the Bolo Machete features a "fat" point that shifts its weight forward where it can do the most good when heavy chopping or slashing is called for. It's an excellent survival tool and will open a coconut or chop down a tree with equal ease.

Pros: None
Cons: Blade Sharpness, Sheath/Scabbard, Handle Material, Blade Material, Materials, Weight, Overall Quality, Finish
Poor quality. For same $ check out Marbles bolo.
For those that are use to the quality knives CS is famous for, they will get a rude awakening with their South African line of machetes, bolo, etc. These look cheap, and feel cheap. This bolo had poor fit/finish.An uneven blade grind.Expect to spend up to an hour,or more, reprofiling, and sharpening the blade, before you can effectively use it.It came very, very DULL!!.When i finally got a "utility"edge on it,it dulled after a few chops into the brush.Poor edge retention. The sheath is awful. For the same $$,Marbles bolo is Far Superior.Better fit/finish.Razor sharp OTB.Better sheath.May have to "tweek" the handles to fit YOU!!!Get some sand paper,if the handle is too thick/rough.But,they come perfectly capable of using otb.NO sharpening,or reprofiling the blade, required!!!Marbles bolo the sheath is included. It has a pouch, and stone with it.Or,if you want a more expensive bolo style blade, check out Condor(the micarta handle one is great, but expensive, around $75.The other one around $35)They'll cost a little more, but you get what you pay for.
