Pros: Blade Sharpness, Handle Material, Ease of Opening, Pocket Clip, None
Cons: Lock Ease of Use, Lock Type
Sexy and Strong
I will be honest I paid the high price for this knife for the "wave" feature. There were many other knives I was considering for a similar price some of which were made with better materials. When this knife arrived I was very pleased with the feel and look of it. The "Fit and Finish" of Emersons is often criticized and I can see why, it is not a fancily polished piece of art, it is a highly functional tool. The liners and pivot pin are a little unfinished looking. That being said the blade finish was very high quality the chisel edge is razor sharp and the blade tip is like a needle. To me the pocket clip is a little too tight but I bent it a bit to be able to pocket it more easily. And that brings me to the deployment. The "wave" feature is very very cool. It snapped open on my first attempt, and man it feels good. The pivot pin definitely requires some thread glue to hold the position of the screw as it seems to loosen a little bit when opening vigorously. The titanium liner lock can tend to be a little sticky when snapped open with zeal. Using some graphite filings has helped this somewhat, though I feel in time this will work itself out through natural wear. Overall I really like this knife I hope that for the price its quality and durability are proven.
