Description
FM200003: Alfa Benetti Primal Force Fixed Blade
Fremont Knives

The Primal Force fixed blade is a no nonsense tactical knife designed for close quarter battle and operational utility. The tough, full tang, Chrome-Moly blade and Micarta scales remain corrosion-free in the harshest environments. A balance of Carbon, Vanadium, Manganese and other elements create steel hardness without being brittle. It’s strong enough to break the bands on ammo crates or dig a fighting hole. Drop point and shallow belly combine to create a point sharp enough to pierce ballistic weave. The heel of the full tang blade is sharpened from hardened steel for shattering auto glass or cracking skulls with Primal Force. Deeply textured Micarta scales for a solid grip in all conditions.

Crafted from non-reflective materials with a durable Titanium-/Nitride blade coating, this is a full-sized fighting / utility knife in a compact yet lethal length. Tension-retained in a minimalist, Kydex sheath designed for wearing on your body not strapped to your equipment. One never knows when they must jettison their gear.

Alfa Benetti
Great grippy handle and a good size for general use. Needed a little extra sharpening upon arrival but that is quite normal Strongly built and excellent value

Bad from the start, but awesome by the end.
I ordered this knife on special and was very pleased with the results. I was looking for a beater camping knife and this fit the bill at 15$. When it arrived I first noticed the handles were pretty sharp but still provided a good grip. I fixed that in about 5 minutes with a little 180 grit and a couple drops of oil. After smoothing it out I was left with a beautiful handle you would never expect from a knife at this price. From there I was on a roll and noticed it was scratching easily and exposing metal on the sheaths, and decided to strip it with some paint stripper which didn't really do anything. So back to the sandpaper it was and I ended up dumping it in some hot vinegar. Finished knife is an awesome looking thing. Overall if you're looking for a 100$+ awesome knife straight from the factory, you will be disappointed. If you're looking to pick up a beater with some potential, look no further. I now have a knife that performs and looks like a 100$+ knife for about 20m of light work and 15$ out of my pocket. I would even go so far to buy some more to experiment with different finishes maybe to have for gifts. Next time I have some spare leather I'll most likely make a new sheath for something truly awesome.

Pros:
Cons:
Has minor issues, overall a good purchase.
Positives: The knife and sheath seem sturdy. The blade is sharp. Negatives: The handle seems to have been made in a hurry. They basically took the Micarta plates and shaved down the angular grooves with a Dremel tool; which would be fine except all of the peaks left rather pointy and rough edges on all of the sides. I spent probably 25 minutes sanding all of these edges down with my own Dremel tool, and it's much better now. Also, although I like the sheath; it tends to be difficult to clip onto a belt. There is a 1/8'' gap between the clip and the plastic sheath, so your belt or pants tend to snag between them instead of being fed into the actual clip. I will attempt to fix this with a hammer and a screw driver. Overall, good for the money. Just not an A+ quality knife.
