Very versatile folder...
I've owned this folder for months and the only reason it didn't get a 5 star is because it doesn't lock solid after awhile of using it, like all my other folders. Its primary purpose is for SD, evident in the finger ring built into the handle. But can be used for daily tasks, quite utilitarian. Its designed to open various ways, via the thumb hole on the blade, use of the Emerson Wave feature and the guard on the blade doubles as a flipper... really cool karambit folder, for the price. I feel very confident in the lock despite its slight "play" but wouldn't strike the back side of the blade on a potential opponent to deliver blows... would use the ring for that. Overall I'd recommend it. Will point out that there is a smaller version available which accomodates smaller hands. Just an fyi.

Cons: Lock Ease of Use, Lock Type
Nice knife if you don't use it as a karambit
At first glance this knife is beautifully made. The problem came in testing it using a Body Opponent Bag with a taped blade. Blows delivered in extension caused the lock to disengage. I don't want to say "fail" because it didn't break, but the blade would close into the user''s own hand (thumb) when strikes at extension are utilized. If you think karambits are cool but don't know how to use one, and just want a "karambity" pocket knife the Fox is nice. If you actually know how to use a karambit, look elsewhere (5.11 or Emerson).

Don't dismiss this blade
I have used this knife as my everyday carry since I got it. The handle feels very comfortable and doesn't slip at all. It is comparable to my Emerson Super Karambit in almost every way. I don't know much about the grade of steel, but it is very sharp straight out of the box and has stayed that way for a number of months since. My favorite thing about this knife is that the ring guard is a single solid piece of metal. This is much more comfortable to me than the double liner that the super karambit has. Lastly, while fox did resize their blade to be smaller the handle is still pretty large. It fits my hand perfectly, but it may not be the best knife for your wife or girlfriend.
