Description
FT0003: Classic 3
Morakniv

The Morakniv Classic has been developed by Mora of Sweden for over a century, and has been utilized by generations of carpenters and wood carvers. The tradition can be explained by the knives – with their classic red wooden handle – being pleasant to work with and having just the right feel. A reliable knife that has a given place among the tools of a handcrafter. Also used to a great extent by carpenters. Has a blade of carbon steel and a handle of red ochre birch. Comes with a plastic belt sheath.
Carbon Steel Blade:
  • Knife blades of high carbon steel can be hardened to HRC 59-60 giving best possible sharpness to lowest price. Knives made from above mentioned steel grades will after some use achieve a dullish grey finish. However, this will not negatively affect the quality of the blade. On the contrary it will somewhat improve the resistance to corrosion.

Excellent Allround Bushcraft Knife
The Mora Classic 3, 6" carbon steel knife, is a great knife for the money. It comes really sharp, don't let the lack of a burr fool you. You will realize this when you cut with it. This is how a really well sharpened blade feels. Unless you have a specific reason for wanting the 6" blade, I would recommend the Mora Classic 1, with the 4" blade. It would have been nice to be able to buy this with a fingerguard, as it really isn't comfortable to choke up on this long blade anyway. But nevertheless this knife feels great in your hand. The balance is good and the handle is nice and bulky, so you have a good grip. My hands are big, but this knife is going nowhere, when I grip it tightly. The sheath is rubbish, so I would recommend that you make a new one.
