FT11867: Heavy Duty Orange Companion
The Companion Heavy Duty is a powerful tool for bushcrafters, hunters and outdoor people. For batoning the knife needs great strength requirements. Then Companion Heavy Duty is to recommend with its three-layer injection molding and the little blunter edge angle 27° for maximum sharpness resistance (default is otherwise 23°). Even Bushcraft Black and Orange have the thicker (3.2 mm) blade with 27° edge angle. These knives will not let you down!
The knife has an extra large ergonomic handle with a soft high friction grip. The knife has a blade of 3.2 mm thick carbon steel with high load capacity. The classic scandi grind combined with high quality carbon steel makes the knife easy to resharpen. Orange plastic sheath with a belt clip.
Carbon Steel Blade:
  • Knife blades of high carbon steel can be hardened to HRC 59-60 giving best possible sharpness to lowest price. Knives made from above mentioned steel grades will after some use achieve a dullish grey finish. However, this will not negatively affect the quality of the blade. On the contrary it will somewhat improve the resistance to corrosion.
  • Blade Length: 4.1" (104 mm)
  • Blade Steel: High Carbon Steel, 59-60HRC
  • Blade Thickness: 3.2 mm
  • Overall Length: 8.8" (224 mm)
  • Handle Material: Rubber
  • Weight: 4.8 oz. (135 g)
  • Made in Sweden

A Good Buy
I bought this knife as a gift for my son. I like the orange color for finding it when set down in the leaves. I have the same knife with a regular weight blade that I like a lot. It's become my go to knife for hunting, deboning deer and bush craft. The carbon steel makes it easier to touch up the edge plus it throws a better spark off a ferro rod than a stainless steel blade does. I think it's a good knife at a great price.

Lots of value
A reasonably priced, heavy tang Scandiavian pukko style knife you can actually use and find if dropped. Extremely sharp. Positive detent on the belt clip sheath. Perfect for tossing in the Bronco's console.
