Pros: Weight, Finish, Blade Sharpness
Cons: None
Not as good as I had hoped...
The size is good for conceilability -- small, lightweight -- and the draw from the sheath is quick but with a firm, seemingly reliable hold so it doesn't drop out by mistake. BUT!! I expected more -- better quality handle that would reduce teh risk of slippage, a very think sheath that takes up a fair amount of room if worn inside the boot. A little too lightweight so it doesn't seem like it would be a formidable wapon in one's hands. Also -- the guard seems a bit too small to prevent forward slips. I also wonder how reliable the lock on the sheath will be over time; will it wear out?? It will do as a secondary or tertiary weapon, but not as a primary in defensive needs. Still, beats having nothing.

Pros: Handle Material, None
Cons: Blade Sharpness, Sheath/Scabbard, Weight, Blade Material, Materials, Overall Quality, Finish
OK knife
Let me start by saying that I own a "real Guardian" from the early 80s and this knife is no where close to it. The materials are cheap, the blade is thin and the factory edge was badly done. The sheath is wacky, with it's tension adjustment clips. Were this knife 20 bucks, I'd say it was fantastic. Essentially, it's a little throw-away knife that can be easily carried and used in a self-defense situation. The blade is very thin and should easily penetrate. Over-all, it's a lady's knife. Big hands will have problems holding it comfortably, unlike the older Guardians. If you can get one for cheap, go for it. Give it to your wife to stick in her purse. Sadly, this is the quality Gerber puts out now.

Pros: Sheath/Scabbard, Finish, Handle Material, Materials
Cons: None
Not a boot knife
I carry this knife handle down on a BELT. The sheath holds very well and is very user friendly and damn quick. A owner should set the sheath tension so that the knife has to be yanked from the sheath, you'll get used to it. I've never thrown a knife away, if I don't like it I give it away. I've lost some great ones. I've owned this model with a double edge for years using it as a work knife.
