Haters piss me off
I am so sick of people bad-mouthing this knife!!!! Most of the negative reviews are about the original knife all the problems they had were fixed 3 YEARS AGO!!! STOP LIVING IN THE PAST!!! This is one tough knife I've chopped down small trees, threw this at trees, stabbed tires, sawed through tires, pounded with the pommel, took a rock a pounded this knife into a log, batoned, and much more with this!! The fire rod works great. Say what you want about Bear it this knife is incredible! And for the people that are still mad about the original knife braking shut the f up. Gerber will send you a new one!!!

Good for work around the house
For the money I believe this is a decent work knife around the house, property or farm. Why? Here are a few reasons: .Low cost (no big financial loss if damaged) .Sheath (easy one had in and out sheath) .Blade steel (the blade steel is relatively soft, but as a result really quick and easy to sharpen! The knife stays sharp enough for basic yard work / farm / property tasks. Blade steel is decent weather resistant steel... Doesn't rust very easily, which is nice when you just keep it in the garage, or put it away somewhat dirt, a little wet, in humid or cold (year round) environments). .While the knife looks kind of stupid with the orange color and gimmicky, the color makes it easy to spot if you set it down) .Comfortable and good grip handle. Good size knife overall for chores. .Combo blade makes it a good multi-purpose chore know for around the yard / property. So, overall, while it is a gimmicky knife and far from being a survival knife, it is a good work knife to keep in the garage and abuse / use for work around the house / farm and so on.
