I work on a ranch, carry this knife, and abuse it. I've had it for probably 5 years, never broken it, never had any problems. It holds its edge really well, the combination blade makes it great all around. The multi-tool function has come in handy, but I don't use it too often. Locking mechanism is very sturdy, it locks open or closed. The lock is also in a very convenient location for right handed thumb use. If you loosen the screw at the top you can flick it out after you've broken it in a bit (very handy). If you want to practice safe knife handling, it does have thumb studs on either side of the blade for one-hand opening. Feels good in the hand, thick, easy to grip, and has a good weight to it. Pocket clip works well, has never bent on me. Not a huge fan of the plastic handle, but it provides a good grip and has not broken. All around a great tool for the new or experienced knife owner. There's no beating the quality for the price.

Love it
I have use this knive for preatty much everything. I have dug up small holes with it to set up my fishing poles, have swam with it in the sea, have use it for cutting stuff at work and at home. The blade is very thick so it can hold some abuse. Overall I am very happy with it.

Worth It
This is a great knife for the price. It's a little thick, feels good in the hand but can get in the way sometimes when reaching into your pocket. Easy one hand opening and closing. I've used it for cutting all kinds of things and the serrations are especially helpful for ropes and small branches. Also used it to pry up rocks about the size of cantaloupes and I was impressed the blade didn't break. My major complaint is that I wish it was just a knife and not a multi-tool. The tip of the phillips head is too small to use. The spring that holds open the bottle opener has broken multiple times so it flops open, but thanks to Gerber's lifetime warranty, I'm on my third one of these knives. Easy to send back for a new one and also provides little incentive to baby the knife. Overall good knife to beat the crap out of and abuse
