Pros: Blade Material, Sheath/Scabbard, None
Cons: Blade Sharpness
Good shealth, bad grind
Having the knife for 1 week already. This is 1/4 inch thick S30v full tang shank w high quality shealth. The shealth is what I like mostly. Made from 4 layers of thick quality leather, tight fit for the blade. Retention strap is secure but easy to open. The shealth seems to be constructed to wear the knife tip up, handle down. In this case small handle is an advantage as it does not protrude down too much. The handle is small as previus reviewers mentioned. It is covered completely incl. glassbreaker by large hand, but all edges are smoothed and rounded so it is comfortable to hold anyway. Hand guard is extremely strong and comfortable shaped. The blade itself has just 2 advantages: material (S30V steel) and thickness (6 mm). This thickness allowed to make more thin tip shape than original Mark I. I tested on wood and it looks like the anniversary model has better penetration than the original model. Now the disadvantage: the grind is rough, uneven on front and back side, uneven from tip to the tang, grinding angle is more then 30 degrees from the factory! It took me half of a day to resharpen the knife w Lansky set to 25 degrees. I understand that it is mostly collectible and supposed to stand on the shelf, but was it hard to sharpen by manufacturer? For the price it was a good buy anyway.
