Pros: Blade Material, Blade Sharpness, Handle Material, Weight, Overall Quality
The Viking is not a beauty from a modern precision/engineering standpoint. If you want perfect grinds that are symmetrical or a knife fit for slicing potatoes or kitchen duties, this is not your knife. It is, however, a reproduction of a primitive Viking knife and it fits that well. The blade mine came with was the sharpest production edge I have encountered. The handle is a very comfortable teardrop shape in cross-section, not round as it appears from a side view. It is comfortable in use and has a strong feel in the hand. The leather sheath fits quite snugly and securely but as mine is new and this may change. The handle does protrude from the sheath about half it's length (so drawing it is easy). It is light but suprisingly sturdy. It is a work of art to me, and it is my favorite knife ( and I have many). KnifeCenter has been great about shipping my past orders out in a timely manner and service has been excellent.
