Description
KS1670BWBR: 1670BWBR Brown Blur, Blachwash Elmax Blade
Kershaw Knives

Blur collectors are fanatics about owning each and every new version that is made, and having carried a Blur back in the day we can sure see why. This version is as exciting as any since the introduction of the line, with its Elmax steel and brown handles. The blackwash option, as always, is our personal favorite.

For top performance and attention-getting style, it's the Kershaw Ken Onion Blur series. Blurs feature all sorts of steel types for blades but two things they all have in common are strength and corrosion resistance. No matter the piece or it's collectible value, all Blur models use stainless steel and this one features one of the best available; Elmax. Incredibly rust resistant, Elmax just about tops the scales for hardness, making it an excellent user steel. Blurs are SpeedSafe equipped for smooth, one-handed opening and feature a tapered thumb stud for easier actuation. The brown anodized aluminum handles are durable and lightweight. For extra traction and a secure grip, the handles are outfitted with Trac-Tec inserts. The rough Trac-Tec material provides a non-slip grip even in wet and slippery conditions. Ideal for extreme or everyday situations, the Blur with earth brown scales and Elmax steel would be a perfect addition to any pocket or collection.
Features
  • SpeedSafe® - Assists you to open any SpeedSafe® knife quickly and easily with a manual push on the thumbstud or pull back on the flipper; built into many Kershaw best sellers.
  • Inset Liner Lock - A strip of stainless steel is riveted inside the knife’s handle—most commonly when the handle is a lightweight material. This enables us to create a slimmer, lighter knife, while still providing the strength and security of a locking liner.
  • Reversible - Pre-drilled holes in the handle enable the user to change either the tip position or the side on which the knife carries.
  • Made In The USA - When you see this on one of the knives, it means it was made in their Tualatin, Oregon manufacturing facility by skilled Kershaw knifemakers.

Pros: Ease of Opening, Handle Feel, Blade Material
Cons: Pocket Clip, None
I really like this knife
I'm enjoying carrying this knife on a daily basis. I changed the clip position to carry it tip up, and usually carry it clipped in my right rear pocket or right cargo pocket. The blackwash bade and brown scales give it a distinctive, yet low key look that isn't too "tactical". The assisted opening feature works well, and a favorite feature for me. The black grip panels on the scales add security of handling, and also work well to hold the knife in the pocket securely. The texture does make it a little slower to remove from the pocket, but I prefer that to a knife that slips out of the pocket accidently. I would prefer that the knife ride a little lower on the clip in the pocket, as a substantial portion of the knife does show when it's clipped in. The blade was sharp out of the box and I haven't needed to sharpen it yet.

Awesome Folder
The best steel seen thus far in a blur. Blackwash looks awesome on this. Came reasonably sharp but not shaving sharp. Outstanding service and shipping from knife center.

Cons: Lock Ease of Use, Pocket Clip, None
Small and in place opener
My very first impression was really, did I order this little knife. It's beyond gorgeous looking mind you. The blade is paper cutter. It opens so quick I thought I had done something wrong. I placed it in my jean pocket with clip outside right pocket, pulled it out and felt for the opener... Did not happen seems to me this knife's clip is upside down to work the way. So I guess I need to flip that as it's not going to open fast.. I check left side operation and could not see any way, If I was to post a video it would be my hands holding this knife against the mirror. Think bottom hand and just flicking out blade. Another scenario would be with knife 1/3 open and tapping the knife. It opens up with just a tap when 1/3 open. I like bigger and slower to open thinking 6" or 5.5" blades versus than smaller and sick fast opener. I felt in my hand this knife was 2" too short or 1" too small.
