will buy another
Really like this, had two weeks and have been using hard clearing the brush behind my house. Used it to hack limbs off the Christmas Tree this week. Heavy 1/4" thick steel, extra weight swings well. Maybe not the blade for a hike, but definitely for doing some hard work.

Great Knife
This Is a great knife. It takes and holds an edge extremely well, and makes de-limbing and batoning tasks very easy. Its weighted nicely with a quality micarta handle, however the handle is a bit too thick, and short for my liking. During extended chopping i find the knife is sliping out of my hand, even getting away from me in one case. Overall great large blade survival knife, it is a little pricey for the steel it uses, but that is merrited by the quality and the fact it is made in America.

Ranger RD9
This knife is a good deal for the money. The handle is not the most comfortable, being a bit blocky. 5160 steel (pretty tough) is a good choice for the RD9. Out of the box, the blade sharpness was decent. The fit and finish is a little rough, but overall, it's a great value for the blade. It's cheap, tough, and therefore easy to beat on.
