Zancudo is Spanish for Mosquito but besides its compacts size, we cannot think of another similarity between this knife and the buzzing pest. The Zancudo was designed by the survival experts over at ESEE Knives, Mike Perrin and Jeff Randal, and was produced by Blue Ridge Knives. It's an amazingly slim, well built folder that you won't have a problem carrying and using every day. The framelock mechanism and FRN handle, with the solid, full length steel liners, provide serious strength to this small folder. The pocket clip is reversible but only set up for right hand carry and the knife weighs in at exactly three ounces. It's a folder we're very excited about here at the KnifeCenter because it gets almost everything right in a folding knife at a price point you're sure to be pleased with.

Pros: Handle Material, Blade Sharpness, Handle Feel, Weight, Ease of Opening, None
Cons: Lock Ease of Use, Pocket Clip
Slick EDC for under $40
I use an EDC just as stated, every day carry and use. I want a knife with a reliable and sure locking mechanism that will reasonably take and hold and edge and can accomplish every day tasks, cutting string/twine, opening packages, etc. I don't expect a knife that can split a log, but I don't want junk. The ESEE Zancudo fits the bill. I own many knives, most of which are higher priced. The fit, finish and function of this knife is on par with knives that are $20-$30 more. The only complaint I have is that the liner lock is a little tough to disengage one handed due to no jimping on the liner and the positioning of the pocket clip. But for the price and value of this knife that's a minor gripe.
