Pros: Lock Type, Pocket Clip, Blade Sharpness, Blade Material, Handle Material, Handle Feel, Weight, Lock Ease of Use, Overall Quality
Cons: Ease of Opening, None
Not to bad of a knife..
I bought one of these out of curiosity to see what kind of quality they make now. I own a few original Schrades knives which were very well made. These new blade could stand to be improved a bit. Had to adjust the tension screw on the blade. But it still too stiff and takes too much effort to flip the blade open. Time may cure this?? I suspect it's the coating that is partly behind the stiff flip opening. Also if Schrade would exchange the teflon washers for phosphorous bronze it would probably flip open a lot easier..The thumbs studs work very well tho and opens easily that way.The over all finish is good but far from the best. The bald is well centered and lockups very positively. There is no side to side or any play when locked. The steel is new to me. It takes a mirror polish fairly easy and is very sharp..Time will tell as to how well it holds it's edge. It reminds me somewhat of 440c so far. Which is not bad steel at all..The handles seem fairly well made. The hard rubber inserts help give it a good grip. I like way it feels in my hand. It's not a light weight knife for it size. Feels fairly sturdy, time will tell there also..Overall it's not a bad knife for the price.. I only intent to use it a work knife If you looking for a cheap work knife I 'd say give this a try..
