Description
SCH303S: 303S Stainless Steel Frame Lock Folder, Combo Edge
Schrade

The Schrade 300 Series of tactical knives features a sturdy frame lock mechanism and a 3.7" 9Cr18MoV high carbon stainless steel blade. The handles are made from stainless steel and coated in Titanium for durability and have a non-reversible deep carry pocket clip set up for tip down carry. Though they are very heavy, we are excited here at knifecenter.com to bring you these knives which we feel are excellent designs for the price!

Strong and Sharp
Take your idea of the strength of a tank. Multiply that by 10. Now shrink it down to the size of a folding knife, and you've got this. It is the weight of a hammer, with a 3/16" thick, 1 1/2" wide, 3 5/8" long blade. You could probably baton wood with this. It is colored a lovely gunmetal grey with a nice, strong frame-lock mechanism. Altogether, the width of the handle is over half an inch. It is a lot bigger than the picture makes it look, and very heavy for a pocket knife. A bit too heavy for an EDC, but an absolute monster for camping. The blade is razor sharp out of the box, able to shave hair and paper with no effort. The serrations take up less than half of the blade, so they do not get in the way, but are great for making shavings for tinder when needed. Although they are a bit more difficult to sharpen than a plain edge, they are large serrations, not micro-sized like some knives, and any small sharpening rod will easily fit these serrations. The pocket clip is very slim compared to the rest of the knife, but it fits great into any pocket. It is not too tight that you cannot use it as a clip, but just tight enough that it wouldn't slip out of your pocket accidentally. The handle holds the blade nicely, so it will not accidentally open. When closing the blade, you can hear small click and pull, as if there's a magnet holding it in, which would be awesome. It is easy to flick open quickly with either hand. When locked, the frame lock holds tightly, and is also pushed in by the pocket clip, which does make a slightly irritating click every time you open it, but makes it very sturdy. There is absolutely no blade-play, it's as rigid as a fixed knife. For those of you who would like a slightly lighter model, Schrade makes a version with small ridges carved out of the handle, slgihtly reducing the weight and adding a cool aesthetic look. This knife as well as the ridged version comes in half serrated or plain edge. If you are on the fence between getting this or not, get it. Right now.
