Pros: Ease of Opening, Lock Type, Blade Material, Lock Ease of Use, Weight, Sheath, Handle Feel, Blade Sharpness
Cons: Handle Material, Overall Quality, None
Very nice, but not quite of quality of previous USA made LB7
I have had an LB7 Bear Claw for 25+ years and used it to field dress all of my Pennsylvania deer kills. My old LB7 is an outstanding hunting knife, durable and nicely crafted. I came back looking for new LB7 knives for my two teenage sons as Christmas presents and the Schrade Scrimshaw looked attractive. I was actually looking for a model that had a white tail deer engraving, but was disappointed there were none made by Schrade. The new LB7 knives look of high quality, but side by side with my old USA model just are not quite as rugged. The first thing I noticed was that the handle rivets were not ground smooth with the handle. But I am just hoping that the new LB7's manufactured in China serve my sons as my old LB7 has done for me.
