SCHOTF2DBS: Extreme Survival OTF

Schrade brand knives have so many models - but they are cleverly designed, well made and really economical. These Out-the-Front openers are super fast and well made. They have a safety on the side and the mechanism takes a little getting used to, but they are truly awesome and impressive.

Pros: Lock Type, Pocket Clip, Blade Sharpness, Blade Material, Handle Material, Handle Feel, Weight, Lock Ease of Use, Overall Quality
Cons: Ease of Opening, Lock Ease of Use, None
OK rates this as good for collection only.
Really well made action. Blade is held solid at least when opened new anyway. I wanted one for a long time to enhance my knife collection. Just something to show off to friends. Is really not good for carry as is rather hard to open with one hand. Blade is to thin actually for daily tasks. Scares others when opened for utility, even though are not afraid of me. A knife as we know will not jump up and attack on its own. That fear is really rather strange.

Great Knife.
Ok, how I would use this product, is all I can give. Would make a good utility knife, but is to big with handle to carry every day. This is to complicated and cannot be fixed if broken in the wild. Then you are without a service blade. Handle is large but it needs to be for the action. Like all new knives action is a little tough until broken in. One handed opening takes some practice, then becomes easy. Cannot close it with one hand. Then again I cannot close my small assisted side opener with one either. Blade is very sharp but to thin for hard work. Serrated edge will be very good for cutting rope or twine. Blade is firm when opened. For what it was made for it is a great knife. I see nothing wrong with this knife. Never had one until now, is much better than I expected.

EXCELLENT quality!!!! it takes a while to get the hang of the opening and closing procedure, but it will be much easier as you practice it. sharp as a razor. opening and closing becoming easier as it gets broken in but a drop of breakfree clp or remoil helps. removed the pocket clip to reduce bulk. really like the safety switch. unbelievable quality for the price!!!! similar to german bundeswehr/fallschirmjaeger issue.
