DescriptionSCTTO002: 3" Tanto KnifeScorpion Knives
Tanto knives originated in the Far East. Tanto simply means short sword in Japanese. Tanto knives have a very distinctive blade that is designed for two important qualities: strength and a sharp point. The point of the Tanto blade is thin enough to puncture or stab but it has the thickness to withstand the toughest use.
Many other knife styles have very thin points which makes them great for stabbing or puncturing but make the knife vulnerable to breaking or cracking, especially at the tip. The Tanto knife has a point that is thin enough to puncture or stab but it is reinforced and thick enough to withstand rigorous torture testing.
The Scorpion Knives Tanto has a hollow ground blade with a thick spine that tapers down to a razor thin cutting edge. The blade is high-carbon, high-chromium D2 steel giving exceptional longevity and good edge retention in the most arduous of conditions. It is finished in black DuPont Teflon for ease of maintenance.
The standard grip is the same as that used on probably the most popular hand gun in the world - the 1911 Browning pistol. This single-action, semi-automatic, magazine-fed, and recoil-operated handgun chambered for the .45 ACP cartridge was designed by John M. Browning and was the standard-issue side arm for the United States armed forces from 1911 to 1985. It was also used by the British Army and many others. Manufactured by ERGO of the USA, the 1911 pistol grip handle on this knife is available in Black, Coyote Brown or Green.
The Tanto is available with a 3" (7.6 cm) or 5" (12.7 cm)
black blade and comes with a high quality cordura sheath and lanyard.
