SOGWD01: Woodline Large Fixed Blade

That feeling of leaving civilization behind as you move out of the valley and into the woodline is the inspiration for this series of fixed blades and folders. These big upswept blades meet the challenges of extreme camping, hunting and survival chores. The Blade is anchored in a handle comprised of stainless steel bolsters and beautiful hard wood. The handle configuration insures a solid grip regardless of what nature throws at you. The thumb grooves on the blade allow the application of downward pressure as well as give greater dexterity. SOG Woodline... a confidence builder when out in the country where man is the minority.

Wood Handles
Wood Handles
Provides a traditional, natural look and feel to a modern tool. Wood absorbs shock well and is popular in axe handles.

Pros: None
Cons: Blade Material, Materials, Blade Sharpness
Blade doesn't do it
I like a lot of SOG products. They look nice, they perform well, they are generally reliable. NOT SO here. The blade is entirely dull. It took about hour to totally regrind the blade, just to get it sharp enough to cut paper. Without more drastic measures, this blade isn't getting any sharper than that, either. The steel and heat treat would seem to be the likely culprits--both are well below the standards I'd expect by a major domestic brand like SOG. This one is no good. Try something else.

Great Knife
this knife does it all for me. I use it to cut meat, skin animals, cut vegetables, as well as, to fillet fish. I like the way the blade is shaped because it allows me to skin animals easier. There is nothing that I would change about the knife.
