Excellent Knife Terrible Sheath
This is a not a do all knife. This is a knife for cutting things. Rope, plastics, paper, clothing and just about anything not concrete are all fair game for this knife. Don't expect to stab or pry with this knife. That being said, this knife is VERY good at what it does. The blade arrived sharp and clean. Mine was a little dinged up on the grip but I don't buy a knife for the grip. The only thing I'd change to the knife would maybe add a glass breaker on the end. But I'm pretty much nitpicking. Unfortunately, the sheath that comes with this knife is laughably bad. The plastic feels flimsy and I don't know why they didn't just throw in a Kydex sheath anyway. The straps are okay for the sheath I guess... The BIG problem with the sheath is it will scratch your blade whenever you retrieve it. This isn't a "break it in" thing either. The FIRST time I took the knife out of the sheath it put a line diagonally down the blade. These lines also appear on both sides. Having used/owned this knife for a few weeks now, it pretty much looks like hell. I don't know if I got a bad sheath or what. Spyderco knows this knife is made of a soft metal so if this is the way the sheath is supposed to be, I'm very disappointed. It's an excellent knife but if you get it you need to either find a new sheath immediately, or Cerakote the blade before ever putting it in the sheath. I'm hoping Cerakote will fill the lines in the blade since it looks like I dragged it from the back of a car. Knife still works fine though. If the sheath didn't completely blow I'd give a full 5 stars. It probably deserves 5 anyway since there's absolutely nothing wrong with the knife. That's the review, hope it helps.
