Description
SWEDWM1z3G: WM1 Knife, 3G Steel, Zytel Sheath
Fallkniven

More than half the world’s population is female – and yet Model WM is probably the first sheath knife designed from scratch to suit the hands and requirements of women. The non-aggressive blade design, the safe well-tailored handle, the robust leather sheath - everything breathes functionality. The clean lines are not an objective in themselves; it is rather the function that has governed the design of what has become a complete sheath-knife for everyday usage.

The convex-ground blade provides a blade profile that is extremely strong, while giving a sharp edge suitable for whittling with. The comfortable, ergonomically designed handle gives a good secure grip even in wet or cold hands and enables full control of the edge positioning. The knife is also hygienic, as it is easy to clean.

The powerful blade runs through the handle at full width, and as we use the world’s strongest special steel, we are confident that this knife is practically indestructible. If you want considerably improved edge retention, this handy knife also comes with a blade in laminate powder steel, called WM1/3G.

Zytel sheath
The new injection molded zytel sheath offers a neat safe and strong combination of qualities which should be very attractive to any user. You can hang it around your neck or add it to your belt. The locking mechanism in the sheath will safely store the knife till you need it, then it's easy to use one hand only to pull the knife.

Review update - WM1 back in my pocket
After testing and comparing >10 small knifes for EDC this knife is once again back in my pocket. It is very hard to go wrong with this one. This is an excellent EDC knife. I have been carrying an ESEE Izula for quite some time. A high quality knife and I spent quite some time deciding which knife to choose but decided to go for the WM1. In terms of edge holding the Izula just can not compete with the WM1. WM1 is also much better for whittling, I find the coating of the Izula to be somewhat sticky. The extra length of the handle offers a safer and more comfortable grip with gloves on and the handle with no exposed metal is just better in really cold weather. My current knife EDC setup looks like this: ESEE Candiru with G10 handles in my jeans (the most used EDC knife, love this small knife) and Fallkniven WM1 (for food prep and fine work) and TOPS Travelin Man 2 (for hard use) in my jacket.

Super sharp small fixed blade
Some knives arrive razor sharp but this one was beyond that. Really scary sharp from the factory. (I once saw I Youtube clip with a Fallkniven knive where someone spliced a hair!) It also holds an edge for a long time. This is one of the best small knifes I own. Very lightweight. I own a lot of knives and this was my primary fixed blade EDC for a couple of years. (I have know switched to a bigger Fallkniven KK and a Cold Steel Mini Hunter). The knife is made of quality materials and craftsmanship. The blade configuration, full tang and true convex grind, make the knife super strong. A convex grind has a small disadvantage, and maybe this is just me, but I find it a bit difficult to sharpen. And to be really good at it you need a lot of skill and practise. This has been advertised as a knife for women and a small survival knife and as such it is very hard to beat. The handle is >10cm long and offers a good grip in most hands. Unfortunately it is tad to thin close to the butt for a perfect grip in my hands. The thermorun material of the handle is really nice but unfortunately, on this one, completely smooth thus offering less friction and would benefit from some kind of friction pattern. The sheath is very good. It is small, strong and lightweight and makes it possible to carry the knife on you belt, around your neck with handle either pointing up or down, or in your pocket. If you can afford the money it is very hard to go wrong with this knife. For some people (with smaller hands) this could just happen to be the perfect small knife.
