I USE IT FOR CAMPING, CUT WOOD, OPEN A COCONUT, BECAUSE OF THE SIZE OF THE HANDLE I CAN GRAB IT BY THE END AND USE IT LIKE A MACHETE, TO OPEN CANS OF PAINT AT WORK, CUT HOSES, ETC.... I LOVE THE LOCK SYSTEM, THE HANDLE THE CLIP AND THE STRONG BUILD. THE ONLY THIN I DON'T LIKE IS THAT THE SMALL SCREWS ON THE HANDLE GOT LOOSE AND FAILED, I REALLY WANT TO GET THEM, HELP.

I just got this knife, so I haven't used it for anything yet. I bought it a general use carry knife for anything that needs cutting while walking and working around the yard. It isn't fancy, but it has a good solid feel to it and looks like it should last a long time. It fits my hand perfectly even with light gloves on. The opening action is very smooth. For the price, this knife is an excellent bargain.

Don't know if you're like me and think am going to use my custom $300 tactical in the field, but end up worried about chipping/scratching blade, etc. Well this Timberline, at the price, is getting used. Feels like my custom folders, and has the grip and heft of a high quality knife, with excellent tactical grip design.

This is a serious knife on the large side with a good medium weight. So well designed. Just get it; you will be glad and priced for a perfect gift. If it cost me $100 I would be happy. Opens with a tiny flick and locks up tight and sure. I love this site and the service. By the way I don't always give good reviews and whenever I hav rarely sent an item back it has always been hassle free.

This Knife reminds Me of an Emerson Commander, but at a much more realistic price. It would be better if it were a "Tip Up" carry.I Love it.

Review 25: 2   Headline: Warning: Dangerous knife, extremely weak liner lock
Pros: Overall Quality , Blade Sharpness , Pocket Clip , Handle Feel , Blade Material ,
Cons: Lock Type
by knifer From socal. on 06/22/2010
First off knife centers' service was excellent. Secondly this knife has a lot of positive things going for it, not the least of which is the price. I would have given the knife a three rating, but I feel there is an element of deception in the way it's written up. This write up was not done by knife center; it is the same on all three or four sites that still carry this out of production knife,(including Wordens' own site which I found dismaying) so I'm assuming it was written by some Timberline lair, uuuu I mean marketing exec. In my mind all the positive qualities of this knife count for nothing because I don't have the confidence in it to actually use it. The liners are not massive as stated in the description, they are average for a large folder. This knife fails the spine whack test miserably, and I mean miserably! It's the absolute worst I've ever tested. One extremely light whack with about a forty five degree swing causes failure. This knife was designed and marketed to appeal to people who for what ever reason want a self-defense folder; for this purpose it is thoroughly inadequate. I even tightened the pivot screw completely thinking this would eliminate the gap for the liner to slip in to after being struck; it did not, liner still failed after one lite strike. A quick search of the knife forums confirms others have had this problem, so it's not a fluke. As a utility folder I wouldn't trust it either, it's that weak. If after reading this review you feel compelled to test the knife yourself please take adequate safety precautions. I'm writing this review to try to PREVENT some one from getting hurt. There are a lot of close out bargain gems in the knife market, this just wasn't one. Shame!

I use it for everyday use...no problems with screws coming loose-but if so, a drop of super glue would stop that.Very versatile-- especially with serrations. Carry it in your pocket and you definitely know it's there ! Better to carry using the pocket clip. Excellent quality for the price--I ordered 3!Depending on point of measure, blade could be OVER 4 inches. One of my knives was missing the included adjustment wrench...

This knife has good ergonomics, with a grip design that makes wrapping your hand around it feel very comfortable and secure, solid, wiggle-free lock-up, sharp blade with pointy serrations and a wicked curve for lots of slashing power. Can't beat it for the money

Just got mine in. Fast shipping this time from KC. The Knife seems to be of very high quality. My only complaint is that it did not come "razor" sharp, like I would describe some of my Benchmade and Spyderco knives, but I'll let it slide seeing as how the price is so good. I feel confident I can give it a good edge with minimum work.

I rarely do this, but I felt compelled to write and say that this is a GREAT knife. Solid, well built and dependable- my new daily carry. I did not expect this product to be so exceptional. I have a Cold Steel that I recently purchased (for a lot more money) and this knife blows it away. Well done KC. A true value.

I have only had this knife for a couple of weeks so I haven't had much chance to use it. Although it is big, it seems very well made. I probably won't carry it daily but will use it when camping or hiking. Overall quite happy with it.

This knife is a extraordinary value at three times the price. It's large size feels very good in the hand and it has a incredibly strong lock up. A top knife for work or defensive carry. The handle is a little slick so I put a thin strip of Pachmayr grip tape on the sides.

Great knife at a greater price. Love the heft of it, works well with my big hands. A Spyderco-style thumb hole would have been nice, but I really have no complaints!

Sturdy and sharp to cut up boxes, ropes, fiber straps and anything you don't want growing in the yard. Replaces a few expensive knive that I was hesatant to use. Replaces a similar size knife I used to carry when I was going places I could'nt take a firearm. Some of my expensive knives were stole and some I lost,at this price I can get a couple more and I can afford to use it or lose it.

The length of the blade allow for some uses that a small pocket knife would not work well for. The handle shape is comfortable, in multiple positions. Great value for the price!
