UC1184: Black Ronin Ninja Sword Slimline Machete

The Black Ronin Ninja Sword is named after the rogue samurai warriors who wandered without a master throughout Japan. This item measures a 26 7/8" long and features a 17 1/8" full tang blade constructed from tempered 420 stainless steel with coated non-glare black finish. The grip is traditionally hand-wrapped and tied with black nylon cord. This sword also includes a fiber-reinforced nylon sheath with lashing grommets and fully adjustable nylon shoulder and leg straps. An excellent addition to your ninja collection!

Pros: Usable, Sheath/Scabbard, Overall Quality, Finish
Cons: Handle Material, None
grip solution
when this blade first hit markets I bought one. still have it.the hard scabbard it a must. mine has some wear on it but it hold the blade perfectly. don't buy the ones with a soft sheath. my fix for the grip is. 550 paracord. wrapped tightly around. this give you the needed cord for survival needs. and you can wrap it to fit your grip. plus the cord absorbs the vibration from hacking wood. a friend with a similar style blade used hockey tape. overall. cheap and very effective

Pros: None
Cons: Handle Material
Good feeling and balance
Nothing useful yet, I plan to use it in camping and in prepping type activities. I will be creating testing opportunities in the near future. The handle wrap is not as sturdy as it could be

Good machete
I have used this chunk of 420 steel for everything from a pry bar on door jams in Iraq to chopping brush on the Washington coast. I broke one in half chopping 5GA copper wire in a building in Iraq but other than that, if you have a 10" bastard file and a hard Arkansas stone to keep it semi sharp it'll do about all you need it to. As for the sad handle it comes with ( I know it's only $20) my personal solution was bicycle handle grips trimming one down for size. The bonus on top of a better handhold is shock absorption. I changed the sheath a ton via rivets and a drill and nylon strap. If you can't do those things the sheath is not built in a way that it can be easily fastened to you or a pack and it doesn't secure the blade very securely if you're highly active. But for 20-25 bucks it's great. All in all I love it. On a side note, to all you who claim this is a "great self defense weapon" please open your eyes and wake up. The era of swords is a thing of history now. Criminals have moved on to modern items called guns that move a projectile in excess of 1000FPS. I don't care what degree belt you have or how amazing you are with a blade Joe Dirt is still gonna win with a $50 Saturday Night Special if he wants your 50" plasma. Wake up and get a gun for home defense or if for some reason you are one who thinks guns are bad and should be banned, get a taser or 16oz of BEAR spay. Not pepper spay, Bear spay. It works 5X better, I promise.
