Pros: Overall Quality, Durability, Sharpenability, Sharpness, Material Quality
A step above
I've owned a Zwilling J.a. Henckles kitchen knife set for several years. I sharpened them regularly and used them intensely on a lot of different dishes/ingredients, but they were gradually showing their age in wear and tear.I wasn't sure what to expect with this Wusthof set, so I was very pleasantly surprised when each of the kitchen knives sailed through all kinds of ingredients--meat, vegetables, tough fruit and starchy potatoes--after a mere ten pulls on my fine-grained sharpening bars! The handles feel a little different, but are very easy to guide for small and large hands alike. The steel quality shows itself in its uniformity and edge holding capabilities. After Henckles, these knives are a genuine pleasure to cook with, as they are a noticeable step above what I've used before! Combine the dexterity of fine Japanese kitchen cutlery with the durability of a German tank and you get Wusthof kitchen knives.
