Great knife, terrible sheath
OK --I give my Mercworx "Vorax" a rating of five! It is a super knife, beautifully ground, symmetrical and made of S30V steel. It could come a bit sharper, but that is a matter of individual preference. Mine had a small flaw, a small chipped blemish near the handle. This knife is substantial and could not only be a working blade, but a very adept combat blade as well. My only complaint is the sorry-assed piece of garbage sheath that came with it. This is clearly the worst sheath that I have ever seen, and to pair it with such a great knife is almost criminal. The sheath consists of a "generic" courdoura pouch that is just sloppy and has too much Velcro and too many pouches and buckles on it. Inserted into the generic cordoura is an "un-formed" sleeve of kydex, into which the Vorax is supposed to slip but not really fit. The plastic has two holes in the bottom, which correspond to two holes in the fabric, through which a piece of paracord is laced to keep it from falling out. Pretty silly and not vey useful. So, if you plan on buying one of these blades, also plan on spending an extra $50-100 to get someone to make a proper sheath for it! I hope that the guys from Mercworx read this and give their sheath offerings some serious thought!
