Not your everyday knife
The Mamba doesn't come in the standard Spyderco box, instead it comes with a high quality plush pouch. This knife is well designed and serves as an excellent collection or a self-defence knife. Buyers of this knife please take note that the edge isn't sharpened all the way. Search for the prototype pictures and you'll have an idea. Very sturdy, thick titanium lock, and opens smoothly. The black TiCN coating is amazing, and the carbon fiber handle is spectcular. However, the liner lock is difficult to disenage, and i would not recommend this knife for EDC. But otherwise it's an awesome knife.

Exactly as advertised
This is a beautiful, ergonomic and smooth knife. The carbonitride coating is exactly what it says, not a bluing as another reviewer complained of. There is an awkward little unshaped bit at the back of the blade but it all blends into the blade shape. There is plenty of blade leftover. I am happy with it and it is solidly built and light. I prefer a framelock but the liner lock is stiff and sturdy.

A swing and a miss
I think spyderco was in too much of a rush to get this one out and failed on quality control. The 1st thing I noticed was that they didn't blue the blade, mine came in two tone, with the blade and back swedge were painted black and the flat part left stainless. The 2nd thing I noticed was the flipper "nub", i guess you'd call it, is a bit on the small size and isn't as easy to flip as my other flippers (ZT hinderer, Brous reloader, etc...), although the action is good and smooth. The 3rd thing I noticed was the side opposite of the liner lock isn't recessed and the liner lock is a little hard to get to. The final thing I have issue with is the edge doesn't go all the way to the bottom of the blade. Mine ends with a giant flat spot where it looks like there should still be an edge. To the good side, the handles are thick, but not too thick, and really ergonomic and look really nice. The jumping is great, typical of spyderco. The clip is perfect and is made for deeper carry, very nice. I hate to do it bc I love my spyderco's, but I'm sending this one back.
